The Most Expensive Football Pitch in the World

When we talked to locals about this episode, they couldn’t help but tell us plenty of stories about what happened then. We recall one of the stories in particular, which was quite amusing. As packs of cocaine started washing ashore and the population had no idea what the contents were – there were numerous kilos available – the villagers, unaware of the substance, used this white powder to paint the lines on the football field in the village. It was probably the most expensive set of white lines ever painted on a football pitch!
